Former prime minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, has joined the team of internationally renowned speakers confirmed for the 38th Western Hemisphere Insurance Conference. From September 24 to 26, 2023, in Rio de Janeiro, this event will bring together representatives of private insurance sector organizations from 20 Latin American countries, plus the United States and Spain.
Tony Blair is one of the foremost global personalities of our time. He was the prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007, becoming the only Labour leader in the party’s 100-year history to win three consecutive general elections. In doing so, he redefined modern, progressive politics.
During his time in Downing Street, Blair implemented a major domestic reform agenda. The education and health sectors were transformed through record investment and reform.
In his post-prime ministerial life, Blair has remained at the forefront of world affairs. Over the past decade, he has focused on addressing critical global challenges, including supporting African governments and their leaders so that they can effectively serve their people and working toward peace in the Middle East as a representative of the “Quartet” (composed of the United Nations, European Union, United States and Russia).
Blair’s unrivaled international experience, both as prime minister and after leaving office, gives him a unique perspective on world events and a political vision that offers solutions to the crucial challenges of our time.
