Entity run by executives achieves prestige in holding events
Less than a year after been founded, the Insurance Market Women’s Association (AMMS), the first of its kind in Brazil, has good reason to celebrate results. The entity has gained visibility and recognition, mainly due to the success of its monthly events, which, in general, has been exceeding expectations. Result: the auditoriums are crowded on the Rio-São Paulo axis with intense audience participation. AMMS is led by prestigious insurance executives and professionals who are victorious in their respective activities, also directly or indirectly linked to the sector.
Solely from January to July 2019, seven events have already been held, which brought together over 700 market professionals. Mostly, focused on topics of great relevance to women, such as female empowerment, the difficulties faced in professional advancement, especially in the search for leadership positions, violence, discrimination in the corporate world, among others. Meetings were also held on issues of upmost importance to the insurance industry as a whole, such as discussions on the 11 years of reinsurance market opening in April and the reflections of innovation and the digital world in the market in February.
The association’s president Margo Black, assures the organization has “big plans” soon. “We can be an example for other Latin American markets. We need all of you” she calls out. According to AMMS Vice President Simone Vizani, the association’s mission is to stimulate women’s professional development in the insurance market. “AMMS wants to be recognized for propagating and helping good inclusion practices. We need to change the idea that only men can make good deals”, says the executive.

The entity emphasizes the sponsorship importance that made all the events possible, shared into five categories – “Black”, “Platinum”, “Gold”, “Silver” and “Bronze”. More than 15 insurance and reinsurance companies, large law firms, reinsurance brokers and service providers, presented the necessary support for the success of AMMS’s achievements. In addition, the associates, who are present at all meetings and contribute monthly fees, are the other pillar that helps the organization to get stronger.
