The National Academy of Insurance and Pension (ANSP) and the Brazilian Institute of Actuary (IBA) signed a technical cooperation agreement in last May, that will contribute to the constant improvement of the education provided to professionals in the sector. The partnership aims to jointly conduct courses, seminars, lectures and technical and cultural activities, as well as offering discounts on workshops and events to its members.
According to João Marcelo dos Santos, president of ANSP, the objective is to offer more technical consistency to the market through the production and dissemination of knowledge, as well as to strengthen the role of entities. “We are keen to have ever stronger partnerships with universities and institutions. IBA brings together all Brazilian actuaries and plays an important role in the production of technical standards,” said João Marcelo.
The IBA’s president, Leticia Doherty, explains that the partnership also allows the spread of knowledge beyond the sector. “This is the chance we have to make the information, very restricted in our segment, reach farther and farther to those who may be interested and to whom it must be protected, whether by insurance or providence, to the misfortunes and events to which we are subject to each day, “she adds.
To commemorate the agreement, the traditional “Coffee with Insurance” event held two panels that discussed the relationship between the IBA, the actuaries, the supervision of insurance and complementary pension and the reform of public pension. Participated in the event the president João Marcelo, the director of the IBA, Joel Garcia, Renato Follador, consultant in Previdência, and Sérgio Rangel, coordinator of the Chair of Supplementary Pension Fund of ANSP.
