The Brazilian Institute for Self-Regulation of the Brokerage Market for Insurance, Reinsurance, Capitalization and Private Complementary Pension Plans – IBRACOR, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, is an entity active throughout Brazil, with the attribution of to play the self-regulating activity of this market.
Its board of directors is composed of six directors elected for a four-year term, being Gumercindo Rocha Filho (photo), president; Juliana Ribeiro Barreto Paes, administrative and financial director; Paulo de Tarso Meinberg, supervisory director; Junio Marcos Andrade de Sousa Matos, technical and standards director, Marcello Teixeira de Hollanda, judging director and Fábio Pellacani Basilone, director of reinsurance brokerage, with terms until 6/30/2022.
Ibracor currently has about 1,650 members. The interest in adhesion stems from the broker’s own need to have at his disposal the services and the best technical guidance on the legislation in force and his business and professional activity, seeking the best relationship with his client. The associates are offered, adequate technical guidance on various aspects related to the activity and the function of the broker, including the award of quality seal.
In 2019, Ibracor, as an auxiliary organ of Susep, will carry out the re-registration of brokers, legal entities, as provided in Circular Susep nº 584, dated January 15, 2019, which is scheduled to start on July 1 of 2019. Ibracor, together with the Unions of Insurance Brokers, will provide all technical support to its associates and brokers in general, with technical guidance pertinent to the procedures and documentation to be presented in the re-registration.
In order to be associated, it is necessary to be an insurance, life insurance, capitalization, private pension and reinsurance broker, in addition to being in a regular situation with the Superintendency of Private Insurance (Susep).
