Therefore, this partnership is welcome and necessary, relying on the scale and expertise of the reinsurers, including the risk underwriting policy and the design of tailor made coverages. Especially in so-called emerging risks, whose lack of local historical series proves some caution. It should be noted that the global reinsurance market, in addition to the technical and commercial capacity-building functions, increases the competitiveness of insurers and promotes new technologies employed in the business.

Recognizing the strategic nature of this alliance between insurers and reinsurers and the reciprocal support, it is natural that the 8th Reinsurance Meeting of Rio de Janeiro receives, year after year, a greater number of participants. This is a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, new business and knowledge of the trends of the global insurance and reinsurance industry, such as solutions to meet the new challenges, from cyber risks, to those of catastrophes caused by climate change. And the promising prospects of the Brazilian insurance market are an important attraction for reinsurers and international specialists.
